Our first full day back from Zanzibar was a rude awakening to the rainy season. The skies became very overcast and before you know it, the rains come pummeling down onto our tin roof. It took only an hour until the rains were so bad that our backyard flooded and the side of our yard turned into a river. I was certain that our house would just float away. The rainy season shortens our daylight hours by almost an hour and half. While we haven’t had rain as bad as what I am showing in the picture below in a while, it has still rained every day.
