Insects of Tanzania

Here’s just a sampling of some large insects here in Tanzania that Jon and I have taken pictures of:

Grasshopper

a beetle – the coin next to it is about the size of a quarter (this is definitely the largest beetle I have ever seen)

I think a moth, Jon thinks a butterfly, what do you think?  It was dying when we found it near our school

  1. Justin says it is definitely a moth. You can tell because moth's hold their wings outwards when resting and butterflies hold them up.
